Create Letters with Corks

We’d like to introduce you to Remy on the K-J team! Remy will be guest blogging for us, bringing you creative ideas for corks, DIY projects, party ideas, wine & occasion pairings and more. If you have a topic you’d like Remy to cover, just leave it in the comments or post it on our Facebook page!

As you know, we are committed to sustainability in all that we do. Remy’s first post is a fun project that uses all of those corks you’ve been collecting. What a perfect way to cherish great times with friends. (Oh, and they make great gifts!) Cheers!

Waste not, cork not

By Remy

New Year Resolution – BE MORE CRAFTY! Do you have a collection of corks you have been saving? This is a great craft to make beautiful art out of your leftover corks!

Tip: Pair this craft with your favorite bottle of K-J and host a craft night with your friends! Ask everyone to bring over their used corks and let the fun begin.

What you will need:

  • Used corks: We chose red wine corks because we loved the different shades of red, but white wine corks will work wonderfully too! (Plan for 40-90 corks per letter depending on its size)
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks: Low heat options work great and are safer
  • Letters: These can be found at most craft stores and cost about $3-$14 per letter depending on the size
  • A large flat surface

How To:

Step 1: Lay out all materials on a flat surface and let glue gun heat up

Step 2: Place a small amount of hot glue on the ‘bottom’ of a cork and place on cardboard letters in desired order. Hold for 3 seconds to allow glue to cool.

Step 3: Repeat Step 2 until corks cover all of the letters.

Step 4: Turn off glue gun, open a bottle of K-J and admire your work of art!
