It’s almost Valentine’s Day! Are you ready? Traditionally, Valentine’s Day has been all about romance and couples. But I like to think of it as a good excuse to get together with anyone you love. So a couple weekends ago, I invited a bunch of girlfriends over for a Valentine’s Day “Crafternoon.” We chatted and made DIY Valentine’s Day cards over some wine and snacks. Perfect day!
I always think DIY cards are more fun to give and receive–and they’re a lot cheaper than store-bought cards, too! So I thought I’d share some instructions for how you can make your own DIY Valentine’s Day card.
You will need: a blank card, stick-on “googly eyes,” paint, and a small paintbrush.
Paint the words “I only have” on the top half of the card, then leave some space and paint the words “for you” at the bottom. If you’re not comfortable with a paintbrush, you could also use markers or pens for this.
Remove the adhesive from the back of your googly eyes and stick them on randomly in the space you left open.
That’s it! I’m a big fan of puns, so this is totally my kind of card. Way less cheesy than the kind you normally see at the store, and it was quick and easy to make. Plus, it’s unique and I think a handmade touch always feels a bit more heartfelt and meaningful.
