The name comes from the shape of the sugar topping which resembles a seashell. For the dough, it’s called pan dulce meaning sweet bread. I had these growing up and all but forgot about them. Now I’m trying to revamp this product by enhancing the the dough and the topping, adding flavor. I’ll keep experimenting with these and send another update soon.
