Heirloom tomatoes come in all colors, shapes and sizes, and often have very distinct flavors. As with wine grapes, the color of the skin correlates to the fruit's flavor. Green tomatoes offer citrus flavors as does Sauvignon Blanc. Deep yellow and orange hued tomatoes have rich fruit flavors similar to Chardonnay. Red tomatoes exhibit a wide range of red fruit flavors, much like Pinot Noir.

We grow nearly 180 varieties of heirloom tomatoes in our organic culinary gardens planted according to color from lightest to darkest.

You can taste tomatoes that we grow when visiting our Wine Center gardens when in season. The best way to taste our tomatoes is to attend our Annual Heirloom Tomato Festival when we harvest and sample every heirloom varietal for our guests.

Although our plantings vary slightly from year-to-year, you will have the opportunity to taste most of the following varieties during our festival.
