    2007 HIGHLAND ESTATES Raptor Peak Cabernet Sauvignon

    Elegant and graceful. Fragrances of blackberries and violets. Mid-palate flavors of currants, blackberries and cedar box. Well-balanced acidity on the long finish.

    This vineyard has sweeping views of Alexander Valley, and its elevation gives the vines cool mornings and milder temperatures at night. The Cabernet here develops elegant, graceful aromas and flavors, with characteristic currant, blackberry and cedar box. Aged 20 months in 96% French oak barrels, 40% new, with a medium to heavy toast finish.

    Soaring 2000 feet above sea level in Mendocino’s Anderson Valley, this vineyard produces deeply concentrated Merlot rich with extracted, dark cherry fruit tones over chocolate and Bing cherry. Aged 17 months in French oak barrels, 33% new, with medium to heavy toast finish.

    Deep purple color with a note of blackberry jam and black currants. Multi-textured with blueberry, cassis and spice box flavors with a touch of minerality.

    High above the Napa Valley floor, our Napa Mountain vineyard sits on the northeastern edge of Vaca Range. The elevation and exposure give the fruit cooler days, but warmer nights – keeping fruit on the vine late into the harvest season. This is often the last vineyard picked. Aged 16 months in French oak barrels, 51% new, medium to heavy toast finish.

    Our Taylor Peak Merlot is rich and round, with ripe plum, cooked cherries and chocolate flavors. Medium-bodied with a lingering finish.

    This highly acclaimed Merlot release is grown in the relatively new Bennett Valley AVA. At elevations reaching 1400, the site is exceptionally cool for Merlot, giving the fruit a long hangtime before harvest to develop intense flavor and color. Aged 17 months in French oak barrels, 37% new.

    From Napa Valley’s cool, high-elevation Mount Veeder AVA, this vineyard produces extremely small berries, with intensely concentrated flavors. Deeply aromatic and richly layered, with chewy tannins. Aged 21 months in French oak barrels, 71% new with a medium to heavy toast finish.
