Heirloom Tomato Festival
16th Annual Heirloom Tomato Festival
Saturday, September 15, 2012 • 11am - 4pm
Location: Kendall-Jackson Wine Center, 5007 Fulton Road, Fulton, CA
The 16th Annual Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival showcases the wonderful tastes of Sonoma County, including more than 175 heritage varieties of tomatoes grown in our estate culinary gardens. Saturday also features a chef competition showcasing the talents of Bravo’s Top Chef contenders Kevin Gillespie and Eli Kirshtein; tomato-inspired dishes from nearly 50 wine country and Bay Area restaurants and food purveyors; wine tasting, garden seminars and sensory garden tours and live music from the Carlos Herrera Band.
Also new this year, #1 New York Times-bestselling author Debbie Macomber will participate in this year’s festival as a celebrity critic, sampling and judging the various tomato-based dishes on Saturday and awarding a “Critic’s Choice” award to her favorite restaurant or food purveyor that afternoon. From her recent cookbook (Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cover Cookbook), to her children’s books to her many bestselling novels (including the forthcoming Inn at Rose Harbor), Debbie is one of today’s most popular authors with more than 150 million books in print worldwide.)
Don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in the delicious world of heirloom tomatoes, paired with some of your favorite Kendall-Jackson wines!
