Highland Estates presents single-vineyard wines crafted from our estate properties. Cultivated from a specific family-owned mountain, hillside, ridge or benchland estate, each wine captures the terroir of its vineyard—that particular alchemy where climate, grape variety, soil and site combine to produce the wine's distinct character.
The Highland Estates tier reads like a Who's Who list of exceptional California winegrowing regions: Santa Maria Valley, Arroyo Seco, Bennett Valley, Knights Valley, Alexander Valley, and Mount Veeder. To create these highly acclaimed wines, we focus on truly exceptional vineyard sites that offer pure single-vineyard expression of both the region and varietal.
Each label in this series features a pictorial representation of the estate properties from which the fruit was sourced, and each vineyard is selected for unique growing conditions that influence the character of the wine. A bench vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley creates an ideal coastal setting for Camelot Chardonnay. The mix of sandy loam, gravel and clay soils of Los Alamos in Santa Barbara emulates the geology of the Rhône region of France. The low mountains surrounding Napa Valley offer Mediterranean climate influences of the San Pablo Bay.
