Mountain-top vineyards and harsh, cool terrain above the Anderson Valley and the Mendocino Ridge AVAs make harvesting a labor of love. Volcanic in origin, the soil is rocky and can barely hold moisture. Vines fight for nutrients and berry size is small. The grapes that survive are concentrated and mouth-watering.
