Outland Ridge Pinot Noir (1.5-Liter) 2019

Powerful black cherry and plum aromatics with smoky, briary, and strawberry flavors; finishes with notes of vanilla and silky rich tannins. Cultivated on Mendocino County's Anderson Valley’s high eastern ridge, this remote vineyard is full of chunky, broken rock in thin, powdery soil similar to a Goldridge classification. The Outland Ridge Pinot Noir's vines strain to cling to the ridgelines yet produce deep, profoundly complex and age worthy wines.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Outland Ridge, from a site in Anderson Valley, is one of the highlights in this range. It shows tremendous breadth and power from start to finish. Red/bluish fruit, spice and licorice lend quite a bit of complexity, but it is the wine's balance that is so compelling. All the elements are wonderfully knit together.

Coming from the Anderson Valley, the medium ruby, semi-opaque 2019 Pinot Noir Outland Ridge offers a fruit-forward, ripe, nicely textured and medium-bodied style with impressive red fruits, rose petal, spice, and loamy earth-like aromas and flavors. As with everything here, it's well-made and a delicious drink.

This is a rich, complex and attractively layered wine that opens with baking spice and black cherry aromas. The palate brings mouthfilling and concentrated black-fruit flavors with lingering dried fruit and cinnamon characteristics. It's a big but well-mannered wine that will cap any occasion with style. Editors' Choice.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Jackson Estate Outland Ridge aged nine months in 42% new French oak. Youthfully shy, it slowly opens to Earl Grey tea leaves, crushed cranberries, warm raspberries, blackberries, earth and sweet spices. Medium-bodied and silky, it offers intense, perfumed fruits with a firmer frame of grainy tannins and juicy freshness, finishing long and layered.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Outland Ridge emerges from Kendall Jackson's highest elevation vineyard in Anderson Valley. A burst of sweet dark cherry, plum, and spice infuses this super-expressive, layered Pinot. Deep, dark and impeccable in its balance, the Outland Ridge builds nicely in the glass.
