Jackson Estate Nielson Vineyard Pinot Blanc 2021

Tucked away in the far eastern corner of Santa Barbara’s famed Santa Maria Bench is the Nielson Pinot Blanc Vineyard. This east-west running “transverse range” provides an unusually cool mesoclimate, as marine air from the Pacific Ocean only 14 miles away is funneled directly into the region. The vines are planted on soils that formed in alluvial material from marine sediments.  The combination of these elements delivers a superb locale for the cultivation of Pinot Blanc. Clean and fresh with aromas of ripe peach and bright tangerine, fruit salad flavors and a lingering, silky finish.

Crisp lemon and lime aromas meet with a crushed sea-shell tone on the nose of this bottling. There’s a taut feeling to the palate, where pome-fruit and stone-fruit flavors wander through the engaging texture.
