DIY Valentine's Day Dessert Table
I love fancy restaurants and romantic dinners as much as the next girl, but I’ve never been a big fan of going out on Valentine’s Day. It just feels a little forced to me. But I do like using the 14th as an excuse to do something special with my husband… we just usually celebrate at home! This year, I thought it would be fun to put together a Valentine’s Day dessert table to surprise him when he walks in the door.
My favorite part is this backdrop I created with a bunch of red and white envelopes. I arranged the red envelopes into a heart and tucked a short love note in each one.
Then, I got a bunch of red and pink desserts and placed them on different cake stands and bowls. To save time, I just got store-bought goodies and personalized them a little for Valentine’s Day. I mixed some kettle corn with pink and red M&Ms, and added little Sweethearts on top of pink sugar cookies. I also arranged some grocery store flowers into a quick bouquet.
For drinks, I chose Kendall-Jackson AVANT Red Blend. It has notes of raspberry, black cherry, spice and dark chocolate–which makes it perfect for a Valentine’s Day dessert table.
Lastly, I hung a couple “XO” balloons to finish off the decor!
I’m really happy with how the dessert table turned out, and it was all so easy to put together. The envelope backdrop took me less than five minutes (just taping envelopes up on the wall), and could be easily adapted with different shapes, letters, or numbers for other celebrations. And all the desserts were so yummy! If you’re planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home this year, consider adding a dessert table to make your evening that much sweeter.
