I love any excuse for a little get together, because I have so many serving trays that I barely get to use. Spring seemed like the perfect reason to celebrate, so I decided to throw a little spring sunday lunch party.

We had a simple spring-themed menu with a big citrus salad and a charcuterie plate, but our piece de resistance was definitely the winesicles. They are easy, beautiful — and best of all, they taste delicious. The sweet crispness of the Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Pinot Gris was the perfect flavor… None of us ate just one.

YOU WILL NEED :

Start by making your simple syrup. Combine equal parts sugar and water in a pot. Once boiling, turn down heat and stir until dissolved. Transfer to a bottle or glass.

First, drop a few petals or whole flowers into each popsicle mold. Pour the wine into each mold, and then 2 – 3 tablespoons of the simple syrup (depending on how sweet you want them). Using a long spoon or stick (a kabob stick works perfectly), mix together the wine and syrup. Drop a few more petals in at the end.

Put the mold in the freezer without the sticks for about 45 minutes. Once the popsicles are partially frozen, remove them from the freezer and using your stick, you can adjust the placement of your flower petals a little easier. Insert your popsicle sticks and freeze for 10 hours.

Aren’t they beautiful?! They would also make the perfect treat for your barbecues and picnics this summer. And check out my blog for more photos and projects from the spring party!
